Dominican Republic hosts the first EUCANET Workshops

The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Universidad APEC (UNAPEC) have hosted the first two training workshops of the project in Santo Domingo. The activities aim at providing human-resources development for the partner institutions to carry on more successfully internationalisation activities.

The first workshop, "International Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance", was held at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), the first University of the Americas, on the May 7-8th.

On the following week, on May 11-12th, the Universidad APEC welcomed the participants as the host of the Workshop "Globalisation and Internationalisation of Higher Education".

Both workshops were coordinated by the University of Alicante, Spain. What is more, they had the valuable participation of representatives from the State Secretary of Higher Education, Science and Technology, at the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic.

The success of the workshops was due to the dedicated work of Dominican partners in organising the events, in particular the efforts of Ms. Belgica Naut (UASD) and Dr. Inmaculada Madera (UNAPEC).

The same workshops will take place in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in June, and will be coordinated by the Université Pierre Mendès France.
