Activities

Originally, the main activities proposed for the EUCANET were:

  • International relations exchange experiences: training mission of target groups in EU universities;
  • Managerial expertise transfer: creation of workshop material, workshops in International relations Management in several subjects (globalization and internationalisation, fundraising, IRO services development, IRO models, strategic planning, etc);
  • Action plans: purchasing IT equipment, setting up project’s and IRO’s webpages, designing internationalisation plans for beneficiary institutions, drafting “Guide for Management of International Relations in the Caribbean”, organising international education fairs;
  • Networking and sustainability: network set up, sustainability strategy, conferences and roundtables on internationalisation;
  • Management activities and quality assurance.

These activities were planned to be developed along the 30 month period that thee project originally lasted. 

Now after the earthquake and the extension of the project duration (39 months) some new activites were added and some other existing activities were modified:

  • Two International Higher Education Fair were planned to be held in both countries, now after the earthquake it will take place only in Dominican Republic country.
  • New! To develop a software which will assist the organization of students mobility at the Caribbean Higher Education Institutions.
  • New! To set up an Expert group in order to produce a strategic document on the future of Haitian HEIs, with special emphasis on identifying possible projects for international aid.
  • New! Set up new IRO and purchase of new equipment
  • New! Set up a Scholarship Programme which will allow that several Haitian students will take a scholarship programme at the two Dominican Republic Universities (UASD & UNAPEC)

The tasks are distributed among all consortium members, and are subjected to be reviewed and audited by the ACP/EU every six months.
